#37: Jaime, the artist who captivated me
In college I met a girl who I shared a lot in common with…imagine that. Unfortunately as is usually the case, someone else got there first.
For the first few months of college, nothing really eventful happened other than stealing glances at the girls randomly. The girls in my class were nice enough to me, unlike in High School. But as time went on I started paying a little more attention to one girl in the front row than the rest of the class.
Her name was Jaime, a passionate artist who was about a year older than me. She was a very attractive and mature brunette with long, beautiful hair and eyes one could gaze into. She had a bit of acne on her forehead, but it wasn’t too bad and something superficial that I easily overlooked. Really, it made her more down to earth and feel more comfortable to be around, if that makes sense.
Now there was a big difference with Jaime versus the situations I was in with Dominque and Janelle. Unlike those two, Jaime and I were on speaking terms and chatted often. She was always very friendly and we had nice discussions on things such as music and hobbies, etc, which we shared a lot in common with. If she needed help, she often came to me first out of the other guys in class. I don’t know if it was all in my head, but I can’t explain it….it just felt right and there was a rapport between us.
Yet, I couldn’t work up any guts to ask her out, but I was likely shoved into friend zone anyway. Not that it mattered, anyway. One day we were talking and I happened to look down at Jaime’s hand…I had failed to notice what she was wearing on her finger.
She was an engaged woman.
