#38: Opportunity knocks…
So the girl of my dreams had broken up with her fiance. That was the perfect opportunity…
So Jaime had turned out to be engaged and I didn’t like that one bit. I felt in pain and like utter crap and spent the following weeks wondering if all the pretty girls in the world were already spoken for.
But there was one thing I didn’t know at the time…that engagements at such a young age meant SHIT. Stuff like promise rings and getting engaged even right after High School are complete farces…the temptation of better and hotter college babes and hunks is too great. I do not know ONE girl from my high school touting a promise ring that stayed with her guy after High School was up.
Even though she had a real engagement ring, it didn’t matter. One day she came into class noticeably in an extremely bad mood. Later on, I heard the other hens clucking comments to one another in the back row.
Apparently Jaime’s fiance decided he was too young to get engaged and broke off the relationship. My heart skipped a beat as I looked over at her sitting in the front row carefully. She was working on homework and was resting her forehead against her hand….that now lacked a ring.
Hallelujah!
But wait….I had to be respectable about this. She was upset. It was “too soon” to ask her out. She needed to have some time to “get over it.” Naw naw, no way she could possibly want to go on the rebound and have a wild fuck with the first guy to make her feel sexy / wanted again. Girls don’t do things like that. Relax, she’ll eventually recover and see how nice I have been treating her and things will fall into place.
And then…….

Awww, it is mean and unfair to end a post in “And then…”
Not cool. Not cool at all.
