#48: Queer Eye for the V-Carded! Guy
All things just keep getting better.
By about 2003, I had now weighed about 245lbs and that’s about where I stayed for a while. I had dropped about fifty pounds but was still fat…just less fat. My mother told me I looked great but I didn’t need to lose any more weight, not to starve myself. I grabbed a roll of fat on me and shook my head. Sorry Mom, you’re being a mom. Had more work to do.
Right around this time I was starting to get a little into the new show “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” although I dared not admit it. Very guilty pleasure….just loved how the straight guys looked new and transformed at the end, like what I was trying to do. One of my favorites was the season one Jeff Toale episode - the guy with long hair and a beard that ended up looking like a David Bowie clone at the end. He looked so good and different that his wife was in tears over how gorgeous he appeared now.
I twirled my own long hair and looked at it. I looked back at Jeff Toale on TV and then at my hair. Hmm….
By the end of that week I had it cut off and trimmed up nicely. And hey, it didn’t look too bad!

Honey: Liked season one a lot, but I think it kind of tanked in later seasons when it started to feature “very special episodes” (gay men, women, etc). Not to mention product placement *coughCrestWhiteStrips. Oh, and they turned out to be crab people, that was kind of a bummer.

I was just having a semi-related conversation with a coworker this afternoon - regarding long hair on guys. I always go for guys who are clean cut, short hair, not much facial hair. My coworker always goes for the scruffy, long hair, bearded guys. I guess it’s all a matter of preference.
How long was your hair? “Long hair” on guys is hard to define…
