Introducing: From a Female’s Eyes
New feature column!
One of the most interesting things I tried doing a few years ago when I was relearning and reprogramming myself was posting a fake female profile on a dating site and see what it was like from the other side of the fence and what guys did and pulled. And oh my god, was it eye-opening.
So eye-opening and so interesting that I want to repeat this experiment again for public consumption. I am introducing a new column called “From a Female’s Eyes” (FFE for short). Basically it’s an online experiment that works by creating staged female profiles in places such as dating websites (with paid memberships to read the responses, stupid Match.com) and social networking places in order to evaluate what kind of responses they get. (Don’t worry about the people responding…they will stay anonymous, names will be altered and they’re playing a numbers game where real girls don’t respond anyway. Trust me on this.)
I will be posting “the best of the best” and critiquing what the guys are doing wrong, as well as what some guys are doing right. I may even invite a guest female (who is more realistic about the true game of attraction) to cross evaluate the men’s responses.
It took some work to acquire some good photos as well as write a good profile based upon study, but the finished product is far more convincing than a fake porn ad. In the few short hours I’ve set loose the ad, I’ve had five emails, twenty “winks” (won’t people ever learn those are completely worthless) and three IMs…after being signed in for FIVE minutes. It reminded me of the episode of South Park where Cartman was in a chat room and got his screen filled with IMs by pedophiles.

Damn! All that attention in 5 minutes? Clearly I’m doing something wrong… or you must be using a really hot photo!

I think a lot of the initial attention is because the profile is new. I’ve actually swapped the photos with stock ones and it’s slowed down a bit…but still far more active than a guy’s account, that’s for sure.
