Summer climax
The summer isn’t over yet!
Sigh…years after I graduated high school it still depresses me to see those “back to school” displays go up in the stores, signaling that the end of summer is rapidly approaching. The end of the season of fun, sun and bikinis comes to another close…at least for another nine months. But those kids aren’t the only ones who will be seeing the classrooms again soon. Yes, you heard me correctly…The Virgin is going back to college.
Why? Well, for one I want a fallback in case my primary career field dries up someday. Moreso, I just like learning new things in my free time and keeping my head sharp. So I’m taking art classes to start, something I have always wanted to do for years. Later on, I might lean towards psychology. So yeah, I’m looking very forward to it. As a side benefit, college girls date “up” (no differently than men date “down”) and that means me.
Looking back over the summer of 2008, I didn’t have a good start at all, having that awkward experience at the pool party. I had an especially lame and lonely July 4th as well. But things have changed since then. I went on a float trip and made acquaintances with a lot of cool people. A few weeks after that trip, I went out on a “guys night out” with many of the guys in that group and made even more acquaintances and friends.
But even with so little time left in this season, there is still plenty ahead in the next few weeks.
My high school reunion is next weekend as well. No doubt that a lot of my mistakes in that period did me great, great damage well into my twenties. But now is the time to face it again and come to grips with the past and redeem myself.
Then of course, the event of the summer…losing my virginity. Always wanted that to be a summer memory and it looks like I’ll barely be making the deadline there. I won’t say when that is as suspense keeps people interested. But rest assured, while it’s a little later than sooner, it’s not “much later.”
But there’s still more…this weekend. At this very moment, I am picking up my glowsticks and getting ready to hit the highway straight out of town. I’m headed somewhere a few hours away, where only the biggest party to end the summer is. An all weekend outdoor music party featuring many, many, many DJs playing from sundown to sunrise. Time to see what I’m made of…no doubt I will have some good “In the Wild” posts. Best of all, nearly most of the people I met that I described above will be there too.
Time to hit the road!
